These are some of my key academic projects.
Augmented reality app mockup for retrieving BIM data
This app gives an demonstration how we can generate point clouds in the cloud from images of a building. Once having done that, we can use that point cloud to localize the camera position of any new image taken of the building. Having done that, we can use that camera coordinates to view the 3D BIM model from that camera position superimposed on the image. We can then retrieve model information from the image itself.

Summary of Construction Planning for ECE Building (LEED Platinum).
For same course of Construction Equipment and Materials, I was part of a group project. In the project, we were given the task of proving our competency as a construction management firm. We were to explain the construction execution for ECE building in the present day.

2D to 3D to 4D modeling (in absence of CAD drawings)
For an academic team project, I worked on preparing 3D model of a LEED silver certified building. The objective of the project is to prepare a detailed case study of the LEED process followed for the project and highlight key features. With the help of 3D model, I was able to focus on specific features adopted in te project. The 4D model helps understand the construction schedule and highlight the sustainable construction methods adopted.

Mobile app mockup for BIM based LEED assessment
Given a BIM model, the mockup of an iOS app shows how we can determine the LEED credit eligibility of that project. The app uses simple credit eligibility criteria from LEED v4 (2014) to verify qualification for Water efficiency credit.

Augmented Reality in Construction
The use of Augmented reality in construction and specifically construction management is a very promising field. With more and more emphasis being laid nowadays on BIM in construction, the importance of 3D information modeling is evident. Here, I am demonstrating the use of an existing app called Augment.
It inspired me to work on a project which tries to bring the same BIM principles into physical world with augmented reality.

One of the first videos was prepared by me for a 3D model in sketchup , I took some time to render the same for better graphics and understanding as a personal project. The adjacent video was prepared using SketchUp and plugin(Kerkythea) for rendering

Design of Domestic waste collection system for Urbana Champaign.
For the purpose of improving the waste collection system, a vehicle routing solution was proposed which sought to minimize the total transportatoion costs for the waste collection company operating in urbana champaign

Improving Productivity of Formwork Systems
The video describes the various types of formwork systems currently used in the industry along with method to improve the productivity of the systems. Target audience is various construction industry personnel like Project owners ,Construction Designers, Contractors, Sub-Contractors, Foreman etc.

Construction proposal as a contractor for a Townhouse .
As a part of curriculum for Construction Planning, I worked in a group project to provide a proposal in a hypothetical situation for a residential project. The purpose was to apply the concepts learnt during the course to a complete project using actual quotes from RS Means manual.

Preparing a company profile video
For an academic team project, We worked to create a video depicting a large construction firm and mimic its functioning.
The aim of this project is to get familiarized with the corporate profiles and the working of the company executives. I got a chance to apply my video editing skills and create an interesting video.

Construction Site Web Journal
In present times of remote access, it is essential to learn how to monitor progress remotely. I prepared a web journal to monitor the construction of a Football stadium at Baylor University, Waco, Texas. I then prepared a time lapse video to summarize the progress of the work completed.

Walkthrough animation for Yeh Student Center.
Yeh student center is a building specially dedicated to students of civil engineering at University of Illinois for attending lectures. In the adjacent video, I provide a walkthrough animation for the building explaining some of its key features.
This model and video was prepared in 24 hrs for the final exam for CEM course
